Tom Squitieri - Senior Trainer
 
Tom is a veteran journalist, having spent the last 16 of his 34-year journalism career as an award-winning reporter for USA Today. Tom covered national politics and foreign affairs, including reporting from Africa, Central Asia, the Middle East and Afghanistan. He has also taught journalism ethics and public affairs at Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania. Tom's executive coaching talents and proactive media and crisis communication strategies, provide a unique resource for TPG clients in both the non-profit and for profit sectors.
 
Bill Beaman - Senior Trainer

 
Bill Beaman brings his outstanding communication skills to The Pincus Group after a career in journalism, strategic communications and academia. Bill has counseled a variety of corporate health care and B to B firms as a principal in two crisis and strategic communications firms. Bill comes to communications coaching after an outstanding career in journalism, including serving as Asia Bureau Chief, Deputy Editor and then Washington DC bureau Chief for Reader’s Digest. Bill also served as Editor in Chief of Politics magazine. He also teaches public speaking at American University. He is a graduate of Duke University, as well as Harvard University, John F Kennedy School of Government, where he received his MPA.
 
Marc Dorfman - Senior Trainer

 
Marc brings a wealth of experience to helping clients meet strategic business goals through clear and persuasive communication with target audiences. Marc joins The Pincus Group after 10 years teaching business communications at Columbia Business School in New York as an Adjunct Professor. He has coached startups on clarifying their marketing and branding objectives, readied clients for VC/Angel funding pitches and helped we-based communicators with improving skills within global project teams. He earned his BA in Psychology from the State University of New York and his MBA in Marketing from Columbia Business School.
 
Carmie McCook - Senior Trainer

 
Carmie McCook brings more than 15 years experience as a communications coach and trainer to The Pincus Group. A former broadcast news journalist covering legislative affairs for the State of Georgia, she became a respected consultant and trainer for media interviews, keynote speeches and high-stake presentations. Additionally, Carmie has held key leadership positions in the field of communications with two Fortune 500 companies and was corporate communications manager for UPS for nine years.
 
James Adams – Senior Trainer

 
James has served on the staffs of major broadcast and cable outlets for more than 20 years, including FOX TV, NBC, and CNBC. James is an Emmy-award winning former Washington DC news anchor and former member of the White House and Congressional Press Corps who has trained both private and federal clients in preparing for media interaction, including the US Post Office, IARPA and the FDA. James earned his BA in Journalism from Fisk University and an MA in Communications from American University in Washington DC.
 
Ellen Kandell - Senior Trainer

 
Ellen brings over 25 years of experience as a litigator, mediator and college professor to her work with The Pincus Group. Ellen works on negotiation skills training, conflict management, and executive communications skills training, conducting skills training workshops for the National Science Foundation, Montgomery College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education division and many others. She is an adjunct professor at Catholic University and University of Maryland. Ellen trained as a mediator at Harvard Law School and has mediated over 300 cases. She is a past co-chair of the Montgomery County Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section and a founding member of the Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County.
 
Amy Harbison - Public Relations

 
Amy brings over 20 years of public relations expertise in strategic communications, media relations, marketing, branding and creative direction to The Pincus Group. She has served as director of communications for the Meyer Foundation, working with a wide variety of non-profits in helping strengthen their communications efforts. She is also past Associate Director of Communications for the Clarice Smith Performance Arts Center at the University of Maryland and served as Director of Marketing and Communications for the Olney Theatre Center. Amy earned her BA from Kenyon College.
