Until January 2002, Kenny was director of research and news history at the Newseum, the Freedom Forum's nationally renowned museum of journalism located in the Washington DC area. He also served as international coordinator for The Freedom Forum's European programs, conducting journalism training throughout Central and Eastern Europe and Russia.
Kenny has taught journalism at the American University in Washington, DC, and was twice named as a Fulbright Scholar to Romania. He consults regularly on media programs throughout Central and Eastern Europe and Russia and worked as a senior media adviser on a U.S. government-funded media development project in Pristina, Kosovo.
His international expertise provides valuable counsel
and training for both domestic and international clients of The Pincus
Group on media and communication issues.
Kenny earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the University of Michigan and his Master of Arts degree in journalism at the University of Oregon.
Kenny is an associate professor of journalism at the University of Connecticut.
